The Fast Fashion industry is one of the biggest polluters in the world, responsible for 20% of global wastewater and 10% of global carbon emissions. It’s also linked to harmful practices, including the use of toxic chemicals – 25% of all chemicals produced globally are used in textiles – and the exploitation of over 250 million child workers. Many fast fashion garments are made from plastic-based fabrics, contributing to the growing problem of microplastics in our oceans.
